The WiPower Team of Wireless Power Experts
WiPower is a Gainesville, Florida based technology company whose primary business continues to be the innovation and development of the induction technology which it pioneered. WiPower serves as the preferred wireless power technology provider for a spectrum of Fortune 500 consumer electronics companies. As a technology provider, WiPower continues to develop the infrastructure in the underlying technology while working with third parties to expand the ecosystem of users.
Leadership Team Dr. Rahul Razdan, CEO:
Rahul has over 20 years executive management experience with a variety of roles across sales, R&D, and marketing. He worked at Cadence Design systems from 1997-2008 where he served as Corporate VP and Managing Director. While there, he oversaw $100M/yr. in bi-lateral business, managed a $250M/yr. business unit, and worked directly with the CEO on M&A and deep strategic partnerships. Prior to that, he worked at DEC as part of the Alpha CPU design team. He has authored 12 referenced technical papers with 2 winning best paper awards and is the inventor or co-inventor of 24 issued patents. He earned his PhD in computer science from Harvard University. Before that, he earned his MS in computer engineering and BS in electrical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Ryan Tseng, President & Founder:
Ryan Tseng has spent the last five years spearheading the development of wireless power technology and is the founder and president of WiPower Inc. Prior to WiPower, Ryan also spent three and a half years in and around the energy infrastructure industry. His work was related to electrical generation, transmission, distribution, and storage as well as gas transmission (including terminals), distribution, and compression. Most recently he was an Associate at McKinsey & Company where he worked with the senior management team of a $5B construction company to reduce SG&A, improve operations, and redefine the strategy of a $500M business unit. While pursuing his MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management he won numerous business plan competitions and completed his core course work with a perfect GPA. He graduated second in his class with a BSEE, highest honors, from the University of Florida. While there, he never lost an engineering design competition.
Ashish Gupta, Product Development & Co-Founder:
Ashish, along with Ryan, contributed to the development of early wireless power systems. His area of study included the power electronic and electromagnetic aspects of the design. Previously, he spent two years working as an electrical engineer for Anheuser Busch and was a co-founder of an IT outsourcing firm. He graduated in the top 5% of his class with a BSEE (eligible for highest honors) from the University of Florida.
John Padro, Business Development:
John coordinates business development and product marketing. Before joining WiPower, he worked at White & Case LLP focusing on intellectual property matters, predominantly patent litigation. John is a graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Prior to attending law school, he graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.A. in Political Science.
Edward Kallal, Electrical Engineer:
Ed joined WiPower to contribute to product development in January 2009. His previous work focused on the development of NMR probes, embedded systems, autonomous vehicles, and fault-tolerant reconfigurable computing. He earned his BSEE from the University of Florida with highest honors.
Pawan Tiwari, Electrical Engineer:
Pawan joined WiPower to contribute to product development work in August 2009. He has previous work experience at Freescale Semiconductor where he worked on mixed-signal designs targeted for 3G baseband SOCs. He earned his Bachelors of Science in electronics engineering from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, in India.
Danielle McCallum, Contracts Administrator:
Danielle joined WiPower to contribute to the management of contracts, accounting and human resources. Prior to WiPower, she worked abroad in Madrid, Spain for three years in a similar capacity as an administration manager of an international sales office. She graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Psychology.
Business Advisory Board
Ansgar Chorhummel:
Ansgar was instrumental in developing the initial business plan for WiPower, and later joined the company as an executive advisor. Formerly, he was the Senior Director of Strategy at a Boston area start-up where he created a multi-million dollar sales pipeline within the first two months. Prior to that, he was a senior consultant at the Boston Consulting Group where he worked on projects ranging from a $17B joint venture to a supply chain rationalization for a large pharmaceutical company. Ansgar spent 5 years with Siemens AG, where he was a senior sales director and initiated and closed a multi-year deal with a value >$10B. He earned his MBA from MIT Sloan.
Steven Greenstein:
Steven brings accomplished retail and operations expertise to WiPower’s executive advisory team. Previously, Steve managed in-store operations, execution, and profitability for approximately 5,000 stores as RadioShack Senior Director of Store Operations. He also led operational execution and performance of 1,300 AT&T Wireless stores as National Director of Retail Operations. Currently, Steven leverages his breadth and depth of experience to provide companies with strategic, tactical, and implementation consulting as a Partner for the Enact Group.
Technical Advisory Board
Professor Khai Ngo:
Professor Khai Ngo has advised the technical team since 2006. He is a power electronics expert and is currently a professor of Electrical Engineering at the Virginia Tech Center for Power Electronic Systems. He was a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida from 1988 until 2006. Previously, he was a member of Technical Staff at General Electric Corporate Research and Development Center in Schenectady, New York from 1984 to 1988. He received a M.S. and Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1980 and 1984, respectively. |
